MORNING

You will start the day with a traditional French breakfast : toasts with butter and jam, fruit juice, tea, coffee, cereals, croissants and other pastries.

Then it's time for a French lesson. Reinforce your knowledge of grammar, expand your vocabulary and improve your pronunciation and oral expression.

Once the class is over, let's go on an adventure !

LUNCH TIME

At lunch time, treat yourself with local delicacies at a restaurant or with a delicious traditional meal cooked at home.

You can join me while I'm cooking and I'll show you how to cook my favorite recipes !

I love cooking French traditional dishes as Boeuf bourguignon, quiche Lorraine, gratin dauphinois but also some regional recipes as Poulet basquaise, axoa and salade landaise.

AFTERNOON

In the afternoon, excursions and activities in French are on the program.

Village visits, museum discoveries, wine tasting in a Basque vineyard, a visit to a traditional chocolate factory and much more.

Don't forget your notebook to record all the new words and expressions you hear during the day!

After a day rich in discovery and learning, it's time to head home. Relax by the pool or read and rest in the comfort of your room. The choice is yours!

DINNER

In the evening, we relax, enjoy a good dinner together and talk about what we've done during the day. Another opportunity to reinforce what you've learned during the day and reuse the vocabulary you've learned since the start of your stay.

After dinner, you can watch a film in French or play a game if you feel like it!

Janet Ruby, Melbourne

In 6 years of studying French, I haven’t had a better learning experience. There is really nothing like learning French in context.  In the Pays Basque this includes 101 ways to talk about the weather!

I was interested in culture and nature, so Sarah proposed a program based around visits to villages with historical and contemporary signifiance, as well as exploration of the countryside. The Pays Basque region of France is indeed very beautiful and fascinating.

Sarah is very warm, welcoming and an easy-going host. She was enthusiastic for my success, and is a passionate and highly skilled teacher. She is creative and responsive, and rapidly adapted her lessons and our activities to my strengths and weaknesses. As a result we made extra visits to sites where I could benefit from a guided tour in French and Sarah made sure I understood the jokes! The program was enriched with many unplanned visits and impromptu activities, based around my interests. These included cultural museums, a concert and even a spin through an Emmaüs centre as I was interested in the story of l’abbé Pierre.

My immersion in French language and all things Basque with Sarah was both enjoyable and enriching. It exceeded my expectations in improving my grasp of the spoken language. I recommend an immersion with Sarah in the strongest terms if you want to improve your confidence in French, immerse yourself in French culture and have fun at the same time.
